COURSE

SWIM - 750 Meters

Along the shore of the Great South Bay.

BIKE- 11 Miles

Flat course, through the Town of Islip. This is not a "heads down" course.
Bikes allowed: Road bike, time trial, mountain bike, hybrid or beach cruiser.  (Sorry, no tandem or recumbent bikes!) 

RUN-3.1 Miles

Flat out and back course, water stop at 1.5 mile marker.

Transition Area

The transition area will be closed to all spectators. Athletes only. After finishing the race, athletes will not be allowed back into the transition area until the last athlete has started the run course. This will be at approximately 9:00 AM.

Before march 1st
Individual Participant: $75
Relay Team: $110

On or after March 1st
Individual Participant: $85
Relay Team: $125

On or after May 1
Individual Participant: $95
Relay Team: $140

*All Town of Islip residents will receive $5 off their entry.

MANDATORY PACKET PICK UP SCHEDULE

1) Thursday, June 3rd, 4:00-8:00 PM: Modell's Sporting Goods. 2000 Hempstead Tpke, East Meadow, NY 11554.
2) Saturday, June 5, 12:00-5:00 PM.  Joyce Fitzpatrick Senior Center.  50 Irish Lane, East Islip, NY 11730

All participants must pick up their own packet prior to race day. All relay members must pick up their packet together!

NOTE:

A photo ID is required for packet pick up.
All participants must pick up their own race packet, including ALL relay team members.
The Town of Islip Great South Bay is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
All athletes must have a valid USAT Card. If you do not have one or do not bring it with you to packet pick up, then you must purchase a one day card at packet pick up for $10.

RACE START

First wave is at 6:50 AM, waves will be posted at packet pick up.

RACE DAY

Arrive at race site on Sunday, June 6th, by 5:30 AM to set up your bike and get body marked.

CUT-OFF TIMES

• Swim - 30 minutes from start of your wave
• Bike - 90 minutes from start of race
• Run - 2 hours 30 minutes from start of race

Top three overall Male & Female
Top three Mixed, Female, Male Relays
Top three Athena (150lbs) & Clydesdale (200lbs) Athletes
Top three Challenged Men & Challenged Women
Individual Age Groups; top three in each category.
15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Following Race: Awards Ceremony and Raffle. All athletes receive a raffle ticket at the ceremony. Athletes are encouraged to stay for the awards or have someone pick up their award. Awards will only be shipped post event if a pre paid postage envelope for 13 ounces is sent to the race organization within one week of the event.

USAT RULES

All participants in events sanctioned by USA Triathlon must be members of USA Triathlon and be able to present a valid annual membership card or must purchase a USA Triathlon single event permit.
All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31 of the year of the event.

REFUNDS AND TRANSFER POLICIES

A 50% refund will be available until February 28th.
NO REFUNDS after March 1st.
Registrations may not be transferred to another person.
Registrations may not be transferred to another race.

NO EXCEPTIONS!

Park in the lot at the East Islip Marina.

REMINDERS


• NO HEADPHONES DURING ANY PART OF THE EVENT or you will be disqualified.
• No helmet, no race.
• Helmet strap must be fastened before taking bike from rack and remain fastened until after bike is replaced.
• No Drafting! Leave three bike lengths unless passing. Stay to your extreme right unless passing.
• Run number must be on front of body during entire run!
• Any unsportsmanlike behavior to other competitors and/or event staff will be dealt with by an immediate disqualification.
• RACE IS RAIN OR SHINE
